The Collective is a growing network of households who collect and share contemporary art together, backed by organisations including Arts Council England, New Contemporaries and the Contemporary Art Society. The groups attend private views, discuss art and their latest purchases socially and share the art collection in their homes.
As the founding member for The Collective Birmingham Group I actively fundraise enabling us to fast track our collection, research artists of interest to us and support the national expansion of this collecting model.
The Collective represents to me an exciting cultural journey into the world of visual contemporary art. Through joint collecting and shared ownership, money is saved, knowledge transferred and the visual art journey becomes more of a engaged social experience. Living with contemporary art makes you think and see things differently, its stimulating, inspiring and improves your quality of life.
