Through a dedicated website the public chose from online tenders to curate the programme for the performing arts festival. The shows with the most votes were then performed live during the festival.
This innovative audience development approach was recently acknowledged when Fierce Earth picked up the Creative City Award for Business Development in 2008.
“Sarah has worked for Fierce on a variety of ground breaking projects, including the role of Project Manager for MyFierceFestival, the world’s first festival which was curated by the public by online vote. Sarah co-ordinated the online marketing strategy and made key decisions about the logistics of delivering the chosen events within a very tight timescale. This task required co-ordinating between the production staff, venues, artists as well as the online and branding/marketing specialists.
Sarah applied herself with her characteristic energy and focus. She is a creative problem solver and very good at developing new initiatives which meet the needs of commercial and other partners. A tireless advocate for her clients, she spots opportunities in all sorts of places.”
